Southeastern's English program develops skilled writers, critics, and publishing and professional writing specialists with effective analytical, rhetorical and communication skills as well as an appreciation for broad social and cultural backgrounds. The program features writing, publishing and digital humanities projects that promote critical thinking and research skills. The program's coursework prepares students for successful careers in writing, teaching, publishing, library and information science and graduate studies.

Our students learn about literature from ancient times to the present, creative writing, web design, linguistics and local dialects, the teaching of writing and literature, film, drama and performance studies, and much more.
