The English literature program focuses on the pleasure, power, depth and strange beauty of literary expression; it builds the skills to write clearly and critically in order to analyze a text and formulate a response to a piece of writing.Students apply writing, editing and production skills while working with graduates of Pacific University?s MFA in Writing graduate program. They take specialized courses ? such as Shakespeare, Holocaust literature, and literature and disability ? and work closely with professors on significant research projects.Other highlights include internships with local publishers and/or Pacific?s graduate writing program and opportunities to study abroad in Asia, Australia, Europe or South America or teach English in China, Korea or Japan.
