Program highlights
- Explore the world of radio and create your own show on XFSR, Frostburg’s student-run intranet radio station. FSU is also home to NPR-affiliate 91.9 WFWM.
- Meet your Mass Communication peers in one of the largest, most popular majors on campus while still enjoying a small classroom environment. Hands-on, experiential skill classes typically have 15 students or less, and lecture classes rarely have more than 25 students enrolled.
- Take part in the Annual Frosty Awards Show, which showcases creative student media projects.
- Become involved with FSU-TV3, Frostburg’s student-run, 24/7 educational channel available on campus and in homes around the Frostburg area. Step into the studio and start gaining experience in front of the cameras or behind the scenes.
- Work with state-of-the-art equipment and technology suites, including the new FSU-TV3 and WFWM studios, housed in the Center for Communication and Information Technology.
- Share your world as a writer for The Bottom Line, FSU’s student newspaper. Be a part of breaking news on campus or start your own special interest column, and see your work published both online and in print.
