This major prepares students to become entry-level certified athletic trainers who are highly educated health care professionals who specialize in educating patients, preventing, recognizing, managing, and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity.?
Certified athletic trainers are part of a complete health care team that works under the direction of a licensed physician and in cooperation with other health care professionals and may work in high schools, colleges/universities, clinics/hospitals, corporations/industries, or for professional sports teams.?
Clinical/field experience is a valuable educational tool and an area of emphasis in the athletic training education program through clinical site rotations. All students majoring in athletic training are required to complete clinical/field experiences arranged by the athletic training educational program.
