All core classes for the public health major will be team taught with one faculty from the Downtown Campus (CLAS) and the other from the Anschutz Campus (CSPH).

The Public Health major will expose students to multiple academic disciplines. CSPH provides instructors with public health experience and a public health perspective, as well as a rich network of connections to public health providers who can provide internship experiences for Public Health majors. CLAS provides more than 100 public health electives in 14 different academic departments, as well as the basic prerequisite classes required of all undergraduates such as mathematics and English composition. Students can explore developing their own programs of study with other UC Denver schools including the School of Public Affairs, College of Nursing, College of Engineering and Applied Science, among others.

The degree is designed to accommodate as many student interests as possible. At UC Denver, we are committed to helping students develop their own individualized educational path; we strive to serve the needs of both the student who wishes to specialize in communication strategies for effective public health education campaigns as well as the student who wants to hasten the translation of the latest bench science technologies into public heatlh practice. To this end, the proposed major consists of both a BS and BA track.
