Students are given entry-level knowledge, skills, and concepts for positions requiring an understanding of how the economy operates, how government interacts with and affects economic outcomes, and how the economy impacts and is impacted by social and political factors.

Core courses for the B.A. in Economics at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi provide students with a background in macroeconomics, microeconomics, money and banking, international economic issues, and history of economic thought.
