In addition to talent, the successful student will benefit from such attributes as academic competency, good training and discipline, dedication, and perseverance. Many graduates of UC College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) have continued classical guitar study at European and American conservatories. CCM students have also been finalists and winners in national and international guitar competitions.

CCM has an established reputation for preparing soloists, chamber musicians and performer-teachers. Paralleling and supporting CCM's high-level performance program, the Music Education Division has an excellent reputation for teacher preparation, with 100 percent placement each year. CCM graduates in classical guitar have career options in performance, teaching (college, public school and private), merchandising and arts administration. While a life in music is challenging to forge, it is impossible without solid preparation. The classical guitar program at CCM provides such solid preparation and is respected internationally for its scope and integrity.
