The??programme offered by Roosevelt University?provides broad-based training in psychological assessment and intervention as well as in the theory and research that supports these practices. This program also provides appropriate preparation for those wishing to apply to PsyD and PhD programs in clinical psychology.
Students in the program have the opportunity to select from more than 200 sites in the greater Chicago area to apply for internships and to gain clinical experience.?We have strong relationships with these sites, who provide mental health services for the City of Chicago and the suburbs.
Students learn from instructors with many years of experience in the field of psychology and counseling. You will learn in an environment that values social justice and learn how this relates to the study and practice of clinical psychology and counseling. Through course work and internship experiences, you will have first-hand exposure to how to advocate for clients and the field of mental health in general.
Careers
Graduates from the program are prepared to work as counselors in mental health settings, including community mental health, private practice, hospitals, schools, universities, and other settings that provide mental health services.?Our alumni are working at such places as Alexian Brothers, ComPsych, Leyden Family Services, and various private practice settings.
