MSc in Plant Biology is a 2-Year program at Southern Illinois University.
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
Students get the opportunity to choose between a thesis or non-thesis option.

- Molecular and Biochemical Physiology
The Plant Biology Program offers a well-balanced graduate program leading to the degrees of Master of Science, Master of Science in Biological Sciences, Master of Science in Education in Biological Sciences, and the Doctor of Philosophy.
All Master's degree students must enroll in the Introduction to Research seminar during the first Fall Semester that they are in the program.

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants for the Master's degree must have a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in life science, and have had a course in genetic from a recognized university.
Either prior to admission or during their programs, students must complete a course in each of the following categories:
- plant systematics or plant diversity
- plant physiology, cell biology or molecular biology
- plant ecology or environmental science
A course in plant morphology or plant anatomy is strongly recommended.
A GPA of 2.7 (on a grading scale with 4.0=A) on the last two years of Bachelor's coursework is required.
A GPA of 3.0 on all previous graduate work (approximately a B average) is required.
Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
Students need to have a minimum of first-class or upper Second with a minimum of 60% on an institutional basis.

Official Transcript – Submit official transcripts with both original and English translations of all university courses in which they have been enrolled.
Letter of Recommendation - This shows who recommended the student to pursue the degree.
Proof of Financial Support – Students have to submit the proof to determine that they have sufficient financial resources to cover their expenses.
English Language Requirement - This shows the test score of English Proficiency Exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE, etc.
