What you'll do: 

• Understand the differences between a catastrophe and a disaster as well as implications of those differences for public policy, preparedness, response, and recovery

• Be able to build from past approaches to future strategies that will minimize impacts of catastrophic events.
• Be able to identify the components of both short-term and long-term disaster response and recovery operations.
