The Tourism and Geography Instructional Facility within the Department of Earth Sciences provides a state-of-the-art facility for research and instruction with the latest equipment and software available in this field of study. Students also have opportunities to learn in the field, where they meet the public, collect and analyze information, and draw conclusions about tourism trends. The tourism studies concentration introduces students to tourism planning and marketing, tourism development, measuring and forecasting demand, and more. To complement classroom learning, you'll also participate in service learning projects where students assist tourism industry partners solve real-world issues. .Students also have the opportunity to travel with faculty to national and international conferences in the industry.
