The curriculum includes a balance between theory and applications and is built around a core of required courses in the basic areas of computer science. Through an appropriate selection of elective courses and thesis topics, students may choose either a theory emphasis or an applications emphasis. The program normally can be completed in two years with the appropriate undergraduate education or work experience.

- You can expect to complete the 36 credit hours without a thesis in two years; 30 credit hours with a thesis
- You may choose one of two emphases to study: Theory; Applications
- If you do not earn a B or higher in a core course, you are required to take a comprehensive examination for that class.
