Graduates of our reading programs will become ethical, informed, and capable decision-makers who investigate diverse cultural, social, and economic contexts as they gain knowledge about literacy and language learning. Courses in the reading program emerge from a sequence of ideas based on research and move through various processes of inquiries. Consequently, our graduates view literacy as a unique discipline with a grounded research base, as well as a field that relates and integrates with other content curricula. Graduates will demonstrate leadership and contribute to policy decisions within the school community, district, state and beyond.
