• They emphasize the development of versatile skills that are essential to achieve organizational goals: analytical problem-solving, communication skills, cross-functional thinking, leadership, ethical decision-making, and team work.
  • Experiential learning is emphasized throughout the major via internships, consulting projects, and service learning projects. We emphasize both depth and breadth: students are encouraged to acquire strong functional area expertise, and to be prepared to apply this expertise in the context of an integrated perspective on the organization.
  • Leadership and ethics are themes that cut across all courses. The department's Business Leadership Center sponsors an annual symposium on business ethics and several other leadership conferences throughout the year. The business leadership minor, available to students of all majors, is administered in this center.
