APU?s?physics major?equips students to solve complex problems using conceptual analysis and mathematical techniques?skills that are highly valued by employers from a wide variety of fields?and provides strong technical skills in classical mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, waves, and optics; a strong math and computer background; and an understanding of how to seek out the core technical issues of a problem.

Physics also sheds light on fundamental questions of where we came from. In the APU physics program, students integrate physics with the Christian faith, thinking deeply about how physics can be used to make the world a better place, what insights our study of the universe can give us about the Creator, and how their personal skills and values mesh with their interests in science and their faith.
