Students in the history department will be prepared to continue into graduate school studies, including fields such as public history, education and law. If you are interested in graduate school, you are encouraged to reach intermediate proficiency in a foreign language and introductory proficiency in statistics.

With Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree options available, you have the option to pursue the degree that best fits their interests. Students interested in the B.S. in history will complete the major core requirements as well as a political science or economics emphasis. As a history major, you may elect to emphasize United States or European history. You can also earn a secondary education licensure in history, allowing you to teach history in grades 6 through 12. The department of history also offers a history minor that can be combined with any other major.
