Our department has a strong and diverse program for both undergraduates and graduates. Our outstanding faculty teaches and publishes on areas around the globe. Several have won the Mungo Award for excellent teaching as well as prizes and fellowships for their innovative research. We're also home to one of the oldest and best graduate-level public history programs in the country.

When you study history, you gain unique perspectives about the past, how it has impacted the present, and how you can apply your knowledge to make a better future. Our program has a decades-old relationship with the University of Warwick in England. Each year, our students have the opportunity to travel abroad and gain a different perspective on historical events
