PES University Electronic City Campus: 5 answered questions

Ques

Why is the 2nd round KCET cutoff of PES University Electronic City Campus CSE lower than even Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering CSE?

● Top Answer By Nikita Singh on 13 Sept 21

Ans
This must be because of location and the accessibility to the Electronic City as the area is heavily crowded due to traffic. Moreover, the intake in CSE at PES University EC Campus is 480, while it is 180 in DSCE. It is bad luck for those who did not make an informed choice as they might face repercussions in 2023. Furthermore, comparing PES with Dayanand, which lies in the heart of South Bangalore and it is a favorite place. With easy access and a peaceful environment, Dayanand Sagar is more preferred among students.

Which college should I choose between MVJ College of Engineering and PESU South Campus?

● Top Answer By Vishesh Mundra on 02 Jun 21

Ans
If you are comparing mainly between these two colleges, my advice to you would be to choose PESU. But according to my friends studying here, you also need to consider other aspects before making a decision.  You need to think about whether you are doing engineering out of pure passion or you are planning to pursue it for the degree.  If you are definitely passionate about the field and plan to secure a job in the field of computer science, then you should definitely join PESIT. If you plan to enjoy your B.Tech course and if you are not much interested in getting placed, you can decide to go to MVJ College, as PESIT is known to be very strict. Categories MVJ College of Engineering PESU Course Fee 1.08 lakh 2.35 lakh Highest CTC 21 LPA 20 LPA Average CTC 7 LPA 6 LPA Recruiting Companies Mu Sigma, TCS, HAL, DRDO, etc. JP Morgan, Bosch, L&T, Mindtree, etc. You should also think of considering other aspects like location, distance, fees and the kind of crowd that dominates the college. Knowing a student of PESIT, I can assure you the crowd is pretty decent. People work extremely hard and are focused to reach their goals.  Finally, all this comes down to how hard you work to succeed in your career.  The campus in the South for PESIT will offer you only 4 courses. If you are looking to join the CSE or ISE branches, you should come to PESIT.  If you are able to afford the fee for KCET as well as join PESIT for computer science, you will be able to fit right in. With a little bit of hard work and determination, you will easily be able to land a tier 2 job and be able to earn all that you have invested within a year. If this does not suit you, go to MVJ college.

Ques

Which should I choose: PESIT CS or RVCE CS? Will a VTU degree carry more weight than a new university, although it’s famous for coding culture?

● Top Answer By Sanjay Khanna on 29 Sept 21

Ans
Last year my brother had the same option between these two institutes. He opted for CSE at PESIT, owing to its brand existing credibility among Bangalore's leading tech firms. PES University has great industry-wide potential. When it comes to hiring outstanding talent, it is still the first choice for many of Bangalore's top companies. According to the recent placement highlights the median CTC offered at the institute is 6 LPA.  PES will also offer you excellent faculties, great research culture, and a good peer learning experience.

Ques

Should I prefer CSE in PESIT on the South campus or EEE in PES University (main campus)?

● Top Answer By Disha Ghosh on 03 Oct 20

Ans
PESIT South Campus and PES University both offer decent programs with good placement opportunities for CSE and EEE respectively. The few factors that you need to consider while choosing the better option is given below. Admission: The bachelor’s in technology program with a specialization in CSE and EEE are 4-years integrated degree programs. The total numbers of seats available for CSE are 720, whereas the total numbers of seats available for EEE are 120. The selection criteria for admission to the CSE and EEE program is that the candidate should have passed grade 10+2 with an aggregate of 45% along with the submission of the score of KCET, which is the entrance exam that is to be given to get selected directly to the course. The fee ranges from around 3.3 Lacs per annum for the course offered by the university in CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and EEE (Electronics and Electrical Engineering). Placements: The placement rate of the university stands at 100% providing the placement to all. Various companies visit the campus to provide the placement opportunities to the students in Amazon, Cisco, Mahindra, TESCO, LinkedIn, Flipkart, JP Morgan, Microsoft, ITC, Nestle, Bosch, Oracle, HP, Deloitte, EY, HDFC, Morgan Stanley, Genpact, etc. The highest salary package announced at PESIT on the South campus ranges around 13.36 LPA. The highest CTC offered at PES University (Main Campus) is 48 LPA. Whereas, the average salary package offered at both the campuses is around 5 LPA. As the courses are different it is difficult to compare the two campuses. You should choose the course you are more interested in and the campus according to that.

Ques

Which is the best, PES University Ring Road campus or Electronic City campus?

● Top Answer By Akash Mishra on 30 Jun 22

Ans
PES Ring road campus is better. It has a better location. The electronic city campus is situated far away from the main city. The faculty base of Ring Road is slightly better. The Ring Road campus has better extracurricular and club activities as well. Only 40% of the clubs of RR campus are present at the Electronic campus.  The Electronic City campus is still in its developing period. The first outgoing batch of the campus is 2021-2022.  Other than these factors, there are no such differences between the two campuses. Both follow the same curriculum, academic calendar, and have a centralized placement.
