Course Description

CSJM B.Sc admission 2023 is open now. The last date to apply is September 12, 2023. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website – csjmu.ac.in. CSJM offers a full-time B.Sc program for a duration of 3-years. The courses are offered in the discipline of Science, Biotechnology, Agriculture, and Nursing (Post Basics), Biology, Yoga, and Aviation. Admission to the CSJM B.Sc is based on marks secured in the qualifying exmaination.

CSJM B.Sc Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to seek admission for the B.Sc program of CSJM shall have passed the minimum eligibility criteria as mentioned below:

Basic eligibility for admissions to B.Sc course is that the candidates must have passed intermediate examinations of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or from any other recognized institute or board.
Candidates must also appear for the entrance test which will be conducted by the university itself.
Moreover, eligibility criteria for some specific B.Sc specializations set by the institute is tabulated below:

B.Sc in Agriculture	10+2 or Intermediate examination in Agriculture or Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology or any other equivalent examination recognized by the University
B.Sc in Biotechnology	A minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in Intermediate or 10+2 examination in Maths/ Biology Group
B.Sc in Nursing (Post Basics)	Shall have passed the qualifying examination and the prescribed course of study for a minimum duration of 2 years
B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology	10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream with minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology
B.Sc in Medical Microbiology	10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum aggregate of 50% in Chemistry, Zoology, Botany
B.Sc in Human Nutrition	10+2 or its equivalent examination with Science (Biology or Maths) or with Home Science conducted by any Board or University with minimum of 45% marks
B.Sc in Hospital Administration	10+2 or equivalent examination in any discipline (Arts/ Science/ Commerce) with minimum 45% marks
B.Sc in Radiological & Imaging	10+2 or its equivalent examination in Science (Biology) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Biology
B.Sc in Optometry
B.Sc in Aviation	10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Students holding Indian Private Pilots License (PPL) with 60 hours of flying of which 30 hours would be solo hours will be given direct entry. Indian students with no previous flying experience may be sponsored selected as a special case by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Academy
B.Sc Yoga	Intermediate (any discipline) or 10+2 or equivalent qualification with at least 45% marks
B.Sc in Statistics	Intermediate or 10+2 with Mathematics as the compulsory subject

About 5% of relaxation in the qualifying examination will be given to SC/ST candidates.

CSJM B.Sc Admission Guidelines

The selection criteria for Admission to the B.Sc. programs of the university are both merit and entrance based.

Candidates can follow the steps below to apply for B.Sc courses at CSJMU:

Candidates are required to generate their Web Registration Number, otherwise, their application form will not be accepted.
Candidates are required to fill the application form available on the official website of CSJMU.
Fill in all the details thoroughly and select the B.Sc course you wish to apply in.
Candidates shall submit their application form and upload the mandatory documents.
Proceed to pay the application fee.
Submit your application form and take a print out of the same for future reference.

Final selection to the course will be based on the marks obtained in High School and Intermediate examinations and entrance exam conducted by the university itself.
A merit list will be displayed on the notice board of the college and the official website of university.
The selected candidates will be called for counselling which will be notified by the University.
Candidates shall pay the counselling fees and get their documents verified.
The seats will be allotted to the students based on counselling.

Course Duration: In general, B.Sc course is offered for a minimum duration of 3 years by CSJMU. However, course duration varies for some specific specializations. Also, the maximum duration of the course is double the minimum duration offered by the university: Below are the details:

B.Sc in Agriculture: 4 years
B.Sc in Nursing (Post Basic): 2 years
B.Sc in MLT: 3 years + 6 months internship
B.Sc in HA: 3 years + 6 months internship
B.Sc in Radiological & Imaging: 3 years + 6 months internship
B.Sc in Optometry: 3 years + 6 months internship
B.Sc in Yoga: 3 years + 6 months internship

Course Structure: The course structure is as follows:

Candidates shall have to select and pass three foundation courses one in each year of study.
Candidates shall be required to pass separately in the practical examination.
A candidate who has passed the B.Sc examination of the University may be allowed to present himself/ herself for examination in any one extra subject as prescribed for B.Sc examination not taken by him/her at the degree examination.
Candidates are also required to pass in practicals.
A minimum attendance of 70% is required for continuation of the course.

Ques. Does CSJM provide relaxation to sportsperson in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Sc. program?

Ans. Yes. About 2% of relaxation is given to Sportsmen who have represented their institution in games and sports at the National/State level on presentation of relevant certificate, in respect of eligibility percentage.

Ques. What is the duration of B.Sc in Biotechnology and Nursing at CSJM?

Ans. Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) offers a full-time Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology for the duration of 3 years while a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Post Basic) is for the duration of 2years.

Ques. What are the necessary documents needed to be submitted during admission to the B.Sc program at CSJM?

Ans. Candidates are required to submit the attested copy of the mandatory documents along with the application form:

Ans. Such candidates will have to first appear and pass the B.Sc. Part I examination in the subject which he/ she proposes to offer as a regular candidate of an affiliated college and then B.Sc part II and part III examination in the same subject as a regular student. The successful candidate will be given a certificate to the effect.

Ques. Does CSJM offer any internship for B.Sc Program?

Ans. The university offers an internship for the duration of 6 months in 3 courses i.e. B.Sc in Biology, Aviation, and Yoga. The total duration of the course is 3 years and 6 months.

Here are some of the information given by a pass out student from CSJM University : The fee structure is not higher than other private colleges as it is a government college and comes under state government universities. Admission is given on the basis of the State Entrance Examination conducted by AKTU. If you are looking for campus placement opportunities, then you should not join this university. It would be better to look for other career options after doing B.Tech from CSJM. You have to put more effort into yourself to secure a future. However, the faculty is supportive but they lack proper resources. After graduation, you can prepare further for GATE and with a good percentile, join an MNC.

Easy notes offer important questions and examination patterns but it would be advised to not rely on the answers or solutions given there. The answers are quite disappointing and irrelevant. You should rather prefer the general textbooks. However, if the exams are near, you cannot read the textbooks due to time constraints, in this case, you can go for easy notes. They can help you with 25% of your preparation. Select the important topics and look out for the video lectures on Youtube. It would be advised to buy and follow textbooks especially for Mathematics as the easy notes are not enough.

You can also join online courses offered by CODING BLOCK, CODING NINJAS, EDx, MIT, and many other MOOCs to get good at programming. It is not necessary to always look for a brand tag if you really believe in yourself especially when you are studying CSE. You should not join CSJM University for BCA as it will be very hard to maintain your academic score at 60% in this university. This also has exceptions if you have good relations with the university employees for any known reason. One of my friends is pursuing her BCA in Axis college Kanpur and her percentage is around 50% and it is quite hard to get any job without keeping to 60% in academics. It would be recommended to go to some other university. BCA from any recognized university will have some value, thus it is important to choose any college or university wisely.

Both colleges are well-known in their respective fields, and your choice will be depending on your requirements. Though, if you want to acquire a degree as a regular student, I would recommend Lucknow University, and if you want to get a correspondence degree, I would recommend CSJM University. Lucknow University has made 75 percent attendance mandatory for UG degrees, which is a wonderful step, but it has also proven to be a bane for working students. So, if you are working, I recommend Kanpur University, otherwise, go for Lucknow University. It also offers decent placement opportunities. The average CTC offered at the institute is 4 LPA. Lucknow University, while not the finest, but definitely superior to CSJM University.

I have a few friends from CSJM and according to them, it is not a good option for BCA. There is no scope for improvement or expansion. You should think about the best option for your future security and worth. The CSJM placement cell does not put enough effort to offer placements for the students. The placement records are not that good. The average CTC offered is around 3 LPA. Rather than focusing on studies, the administration only required 75% attendance. The only advantage CSJM offers is the library.

CSJM University Kanpur conducts a separate entrance examination for M.Sc Biotechnology. The admissions are based on the merit list prepared based on the examination. As for placements, there are little to no placement opportunities for Biotechnology in India. It is a research-based subject. So, most job opportunities are in the R&D sector. But India doesn’t spend much on the R&D budget. That’s why there are not many Biotechnology companies. So, the placement for M.Sc Biotechnology at CSJM University, Kanpur is not good.
