Course Description
Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is a public university with 18 schools, 72 departments and 109 affiliated colleges. Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) has 24 autonomous colleges, 14 aided colleges, 33 self-financing colleges, 18 approved institutions, 4 evening colleges, 6 constituent colleges and one University College. Courses offered by MKU include 41 postgraduate and 35 M.Phil programmes, along with 17 Diploma / P.G. Diploma / Certificate courses in the various departments. In addition to it, 66 UG and 45 PG courses are offered in the affiliated Colleges.
In addition to regular programs, the university also offers distance learning courses through MKU Directorate of Distance Education. The university offers several distance UG & PG courses along with 21 Diploma, 44 PG Diploma, and 10 Certification programs in various departments such as Art, Science and Management courses.

- Only candidates with the relevant postgraduate degree are eligible to apply for M.Phil programme.
- Admission to the above-mentioned programmes is through marks secured by the candidates in the university entrance examination only. Check MKU Admission
- Those seeking admission can register themselves by filling and submitting duly filled-in applications available at the official university website.
- Candidate must attach the required processing fee and necessary enclosures along with completed applications. The university conducts the placement activities for students. Companies like IBM, TCS & Cognizant participate in MKU Placement activity programs.

How to Apply?
For applying to M.Phil. programmes of the MKU, the candidate should follow the given steps:
- Candidate should fill the prescribed application form available on the university website and send it along with the registration fee and relevant certificates before the last date
- Registration fees for M.Phil. programmes is Rs. 300/- which should be submitted through demand draft (DD) only
- Students should write their name, complete address and course for which they applied in Block letters on the reverse side of the demand draft
- Separate application form should be filled by candidate if they wish to apply for more than one course. Students belonging to states other than Tamil Nadu are treated as ‘Other Communities’
- Photo copies of all the certificates along with application form should be in English only and must be sent to the following address:

- Along with the application forms, candidates have to submit photo copies, attested by the Gazetted officer, of the following certificates:
- SSLC,HSE mark statement
- U.G./P.G. Degree Marks statement /Grade certificates/ Provisional Certificate
- Community certificate obtained from Tahsildar concerned otherwise it will not be taken into account.
- Income Certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only)
- Certificate of Physically Challenged / Leprosy cured if anyone has.
- Sports Certificate.

- +2 marks statement (compulsory)
- Two self-addressed stamped (Rs.10/-) envelope
- SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration Fee for only one course.
