This is a very subjective question.
Generally, IITs are considered Tier-1 colleges, NITs are considered Tier-2 colleges, and all other private engineering colleges are considered tier-3 colleges. Also, college ranks do not really matter during placements or later in your work life. It is only valuable till your college life.
With the economy getting stagnant due to the pandemic-related slowdowns, opportunities are very limited and the existing roles also have a very limited scope of any major salary hike. So make your expectations accordingly.
My friend is a mechanical engineer graduate from Karunya University. According to him, the placement stats of Karunya University is quite good especially for departments like CSE and IT. Other than these two branches, other branches barely get core companies in the placements.
According to the average package offered at Karunya University generally ranges from 3.25 LPA to 3.5 LPA. The highest CTC offered is 25 LPA. Some of the major recruiters at the institute are Infosys, Byju’s, Amazon, Accenture, etc.
This should give you an idea about the placement scenario at the institute.
In the 1st year of college, the syllabus is the same for All the departments and branches.
The first two consecutive semesters cover the same subjects for all the branches that include basic School subjects, basic mechanical, Basic EEE, and C programming as an additional.
There’s not much difference until you reach 3 semesters where you actually start learning your subject.
A few of my friends have studied here and their experiences have been moderate. Karunya University has improved over the years but you cannot expect too much from here.
Following are some of the pros and cons of the university:
Pros –
Cons –
If you are opting for Karunya University, then go only for CSE as only it is good. Other departments like ECE and EE do not have proper faculty members or infrastructure. Do not waste your time in such departments.
There are several reasons for this, including the fact that Karunya generally advertises only in the southern regions of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. As a result, there will be more students from here. Most North Indian students who come here learn about Karunya through alumni. Students are not given many opportunities to showcase their talents, such as singing and dancing. Doing dance numbers to Bollywood/Hollywood songs, for example. There is one thing to point out even though Karunya believes in a value-based education system yet prayers are given more weight than studies.
In comparison to other universities, there is little freedom. Most people, especially outsiders mistake this location for a Christian conversion site, which is completely false. The majority of KU alumni are dissatisfied with the university. People only ask them if they should go to Karunya at the end of the day.
Despite this, Karunya is an excellent place to study. All Karunyans need is a little more exposure to the outside world.
I have a few friends who graduated from Karunya University. According to them, it is a decent option for pursuing a course in CSE.
So, overall, Karunya University is a good option for pursuing CSE.
As you start a new chapter of your life, the question does come to mind regarding what to pack for your new hostel room here are a few tips for you. Below I’ve listed some essential items that you must pack with you.

One of my friends studied at Karunya University. According to him, all colleges have pros and cons and Karunya University was nothing different. Here are some things he mentioned about the college which might give you a clear idea.
Pros of Karunya University include:
Cons or Karunya University includes:
You can opt for Karunya University if you are interested. It has a decent infrastructure and is a residential college with high standards. Otherwise, you can also opt for any other college affiliated with Anna University.
Karunya University is deemed to be a university registered under the UGC rules and regulations. It is doubtful whether a degree from the university is officially accepted.
Rather than asking whether the certificate is valued or not you should be asking about the credibility and how much importance does the certificate holds?
It does not hold much credibility and importance. It is a regular private university and obviously not comparable to any of the IITs or NITs. The recruiters consider it as an average college.
I have heard from many that the students of Karunya University lack technical skills in comparison to other colleges of Coimbatore in fact, the whole of Tamil Nadu.
Overall Karunya University is neither a much-valued college nor a bad one.
As per the current record of 2021, there are 2102 total enrolled students at Karunya University. There are various reasons for students to join Karunya University. These include:
The students of Karunya University formerly known as the Karunyas, help people in solving their real-life problems. They stand by their motto or 'Arise and Shine' and build themselves in such a way that they emerge successfully.
