Anna University MCA admission 2024 will be done through the TANCET examination. TANCET 2024 registrations are open and the last date to apply is February 07, 2024. Anna University MCA is a 2-year full-time program at the PG leveal. Admission to the MCA program at Anna University is done through a common entrance exam, TANCET- Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test. Applicants with an undergraduate degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for the program. Prospective applicants must have studied Mathematics/Statistics at intermediate level.

Anna University MCA Eligibility

Candidates having 10+2 along with a Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply.
A candidate must have passed 10+2 with 55% marks in minimum and must have mathematics/statistics as a compulsory subject at the intermediate level.
BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree. Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination.
Candidates must have passed the TANCET exam with a valid score.
A candidate seeking to apply for the Distance learning course must appear in the DEET exam- Distance Education Entrance Test.
Those candidates who have appeared and have valid scores in the TANCET exam are exempted from appearing in the DEET exam.

TANCET Exam- Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is conducted by the state government for admission to various postgraduate courses.
It is conducted and governed by the Anna University, Chennai.
More than 200 colleges and institutes accept the TANCET results.
There is no age restriction for candidates appearing for the TANCET.
Applicants for MBA and MCA course must have completed his/her graduation from a recognized institute or university in any discipline
For all other courses, candidates should have completed their B.Tech/BE from a recognized institute or university in the relevant field.
Those candidates who have completed 10+2+AMIE or 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE are also eligible for TANCET.
Based on the TANCET marks the candidates are shortlisted according to their scores in the appearing test.

DEET- Distance Education Entrance Test is a common exam conducted by Anna University.

Utilize study holidays effectively – For the first semester examinations, the gap between them maybe a day or two. You have to complete the syllabus in the 10 to 15 days of study holidays. Make sure to revise every important portion the day before the exam. Engineering Graphics – Practice more drawings and present the diagrams clearly and neatly. It is a 4 credit paper. Engineering Mathematics – Do not just read the problems, work them out then and there. This will make you confident on the day of your exam. Engineering Physics and Chemistry – The physics and chemistry papers are much easier compared to the class 12th syllabus. Study the textbook thoroughly. Understand the concepts. Present the answers with diagrams wherever necessary. Instead of writing long paragraphs, use points. Madras Institute of Technology is under Anna University. These two aren’t separate. If you want good job profiles with cushy salary packages, after completing your degree, MIT isn’t a good option. Not many core companies visit the campus drive for recruitment. Although placements in the non-core sector are good. MIT offers good academics and you can benefit from the institute if you are aiming to pursue higher studies. The course fee is nominal. The course costs around INR 1.58 lakhs. SRM is a good option if infrastructure is your priority. Although the university fees are a little higher.
