Alagappa University offers a range of UG, PG, M.Phil., and Phd. Programs in Arts, Commerce, Science, IT, Management, and Education streams. The University is known for its state of the art infrastructure for Research programs. Alagappa University also offers Post-graduate Diploma programs in varied disciplines of science stream.

For admission to M.Phil. and PG Diploma programs, a candidate must have a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline. The application process for these programs is an offline process. The University conducts an entrance examination for admission to M.Phil. programs. The selection to PG Diploma program is based on marks scored in Master’s degree. The entrance exam is conducted around the mid of July.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Phil programme:

A candidate must have a post graduate degree in a relevant discipline with 55% marks. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD categories, the minimum percentage required in the qualifying degree is 50%.  

Selection Process

Selection to M.Phil programme will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance examinations and qualifying degree. The provisionally selected candidates will be intimated by post. The duration of exam is two hours and it will be held between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The question will be objective type in nature and will be asked from the relevant discipline to which a candidate has applied.

You can apply for M.Phil. and PG diploma program in offline mode only. You can obtain the application form by post, by person or can be downloaded from the official website of the university. 

Application Fee:

For General Candidates: INR 500/-

For SC/ST Candidates: INR 250/-

There are two following methods to obtain the application form:

By person/post: You can obtain the Application form from the Registrar, Alagappa University, Karaikudi – 630003 on requisition along with a demand draft for Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST applicants on submission of a photocopy of Community certificate) drawn in favour of “THE REGISTRAR, ALAGAPPA UNIVERSITY” payable at Karaikudi by post or in person.

Download from Website: You can download the application form from the official website of Alagappa university in which case, the cost of application form should be sent by way of demand draft while submitting the filled-in application form.
