Guru Kashi University offers a four-year BSc Agriculture (Hons) program through its University College of Agriculture. Approved by ICAR, this program ranks #662 all over India. Admission to the course is based on merit. Prospective applicants must have passed Class 12 in the Medical/Non-Medical/ Agricultural stream from a recognized board. Candidates also have the option to get a lateral entry to the second year of the course if they have cleared the LEET exam. Admission for the session 2021-22 is yet to be announced.

Admission Procedure

  1. Applicants are invited to fill in the application form for registration.
  2. The applications are scrutinized and the merit list is prepared.
  3. Provisionally there is an allotment of seats on the basis of the merit list prepared.
  4. Verification of Original documents to check the eligibility.
  5. Deposition of Tuition Fees.
  6. Final allotment of seats.

Entrance Exams

No such entrance exams are conducted for this course. The selection is purely based on a merit basis. Only if a candidate has cleared the LEET exam, will get direct admission to 2nd year of the course given the fact that the candidate has a diploma in the respective field.

Guru Kashi University BSc Agriculture Course Details

Structure

  • The 4 year B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) is a rigorous course. It is a semester wise course, divided into 8 semesters. 
  • It is based on the Credit System. For each semester, there are 24 Credits and an additional 1 Credit for NCC/NSS/Physical Education till Semester 4. 
  • In the first and second semester, the candidate has to choose an elective subject known as deficiency courses from Mathematics and Botany. 
  • Students with a medical background at 10+2 can choose Mathematics I and students from the non-medical background can choose Botany I. 
  • There are Lab papers as well and a total of 100 marks is divided into internal and external marks.
