SGBAU PhD Admission 2023 is ongoing currently. Admission to the program is based on the PhD entrance test MPET scores and Interview. The provisional list of candidates shortlisted for entrance exam will be released by May 28-30, 2023. The MPET exam is scheduled to be held on July 15, 2023. 

Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU) is the State/public University imparting professional and non-professional education, research and training in various streams. SGBAU has around 80 affiliated colleges which offer admission to PhD programs. Only candidates with the relevant qualifying PG degree can register for the above mentioned research programmes. SGBAU Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

M.Phil. – 1 year

Hindi/English/Marathi/Sanskrit/Botany/Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Geology/Microbiology/Electronics/Bio Technology/Bio Chemistry/Sociology/ History/Political Science/Geography/Economics/Library & Information Science/ Education/Physical Education/Home Science)

Eligibility:

• Candidate should have passed PG examination in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks (40% in Economics)/equivalent grade in the qualifying examination. For the reserved category candidates, minimum required aggregate is 50% in all the branches except Economics.
• Candidates working in an organization which have MOU with University, Regular/adhoc/ contract/ CHB faculty/Teaching cum Research Fellow from Educational institutions, R&D organizations and the professionals from Govt, public sector Undertaking can apply for part-time Ph.D.

Ph.D. - 3-5 years

(Faculty of Arts (including Fine Art) /Faculty of Science /Faculty of Law /Faculty of Medicine (Pharmaceutical Sciences) /Faculty of Commerce /Faculty of Education /Faculty of Engineering and Technology /Faculty of Social Sciences /Faculty of Home Science)

Eligibility:

Candidates must possess Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST candidates) in the concerned subject from any recognized University.

SGBAU Ph.D Admission Process

Candidates shall be selected to the Ph.D./M.Phil. programme on the basis of the scores obtained in the entrance test, followed by the interview round.

Note: Candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR (JRF) or possess regular M.Phil. degree in the relevant subject or teacher fellowship are not required to appear in the  Ph.D. Entrance/Aptitude Test. Selection of such candidates shall be based on the interview.

• Candidates are required to download the online application form available at the university website and fill it with all the relevant information
• Candidate must print the duly filled-in application forms and send it along with the processing fee in the form of Demand Draft (DD) to the university office. 8. No objection certificate from the concerned department in case is the candidate is working
9. Passport size Photograph (self-attested)

SGBAU Ph.D Reservation Criteria

• 70% of the total intake capacity is reserved for the internal students of the university
• 20% seats are reserved for candidates of any other recognized Indian university
• The remaining 10% seats are reserved for the candidates from any foreign university
• Only the SC/ST/OBC candidates of Maharashtra State shall be considered under the reserved category. Other SC/ST/OBC candidates shall be treated as open category
