Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University offers a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme under 17 specializations namely, Arabic, Applied Mathematics, Botany, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, English, Economics, Education, Electrical Engineering, Hospital and Tourism, Islamic Studies, Information Technology, Mathematics, management Studies, Urdu and Zoology.

• It is a full-time course
• Selection Criteria- Entrance exam, Presentation and Interview.
• No candidate can undertake employment or appear in any business / profession during the period of his study.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates need to fulfill any one of the below mentioned criteria for getting admission in the Doctor Philosophy programme-

• 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade “B” in the UGC 7 -point Scale) in M. Phil. Course Work (50% for SC / ST, OBC - non creamy layer and differently abled candidates).
• Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC / ST, OBC candidates) in aggregate or its equivalent grade “B” in the UGC 7 - point scale.

Admission Guidelines

Admissions to Ph.D are provided on the basis of entrance exam scores followed by Personal Interview and Presentation.

7. Based on the merit in the entrance exam, students will be called for submitting their presentation and they will be interviewed.

The student will be required to submit their thesis, based on their findings, not earlier than three and half years including coursework but not later than six years from the date of registration.
