Course Information

Eligibility Criteria

Recognized Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent degree obtaining at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.

The admission to the MPharmacy degree course shall be made based on the merit of a Valid GPAT Score.

Course Details

With all of the above mentioned courses, HPTU also offers M.Tech with five different specializations along with M.Pharm. under three specialization subjects. The duration of all the specialized M.Tech courses and M.Pharm. courses is 2 years.

The minimum eligibility for M.Tech. is a pass in B.E. or B.Tech. with min. 50% marks in the qualifying exam whereas, for M.Pharm., the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree Pharmacy with minimum 50% marks.

M.Tech admission

The admission to M.Tech degree courses shall be made on the basis of merit of valid GATE score.
In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of GATE, the vacant seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of HPCET
In case the seats remain vacant after the exhausting the merit of National Level Test and HPCET, the remaining seats shall be filled up on the basis of merit of B.E./B.Tech degree awarded by a recognised University.

M.Pharm admission

The admission to M.Pharm. degree courses shall be made on the basis of merit of Valid GPAT score.
In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of GPAT, the vacant seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of HPCET.
In case the seats remain vacant after the exhausting the merit of National Level Test and HPCET, the remaining seats shall be filled up on the basis of merit of B.Pharm. degree awarded by a recognised University.
5% marks relaxation for SC/ST/BPL category.

HPTU has its own popularity from some of the colleges under its name. All the colleges are not up to the mark when certain things like Faculty, placement, infrastructure, or alumni are considered. On the other hand, Chandigarh University (CU) holds a great reputation. It has great placement records in North India. So it is recommended that among the two opt for CU as it will prove to be beneficial to your career.

Referring to the previous years’ placement records of HPTU, they are pretty average. This year, the highest salary package offered was around 4 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was around 2 LPA. Major companies like Wipro and TATA visit the campus for recruitments in the field of science and technology. However, they do not offer any internship opportunities. The salary packages offered by most of the companies are quite the norm. You can also apply off-campus and get jobs. If you are not getting admission to any good NIT then you can go to HPTU Hamirpur.

HPTU also charges lower course fees compared to CU. HPTU offers decent placement opportunities.
