Having known some people studying in both these colleges, I can share some information about them. This might help you make a decision.

  • DCRUST takes the lead here. If you prefer extracurricular activities, it is the right place for you.
  • They have activity clubs, literary events, social welfare clubs, and also a drama club called Sparsh.
  • These activities will help you groom your personality.

  • DCRUST is known to have better hostel facilities than YMCA.
  • Also, it is famous for Murthal Dhabas.

One of my friends studied at DCRUST. According to him, if you are willing to study at DCRUST Murthal, opt for either CSE or ECE. As the core engineering departments like mechanical or electrical do not have good placements. It is better to go for CSE or ECE as many corporate firms participate in their placement program.

Categories CS/IT at DCRUST
Course Fee 2.36 lakhs
Placement Percentage 70-80%
Highest CTC 30 LPA
Average CTC 7-9 LPA
Lowest CTC 3-5 LPA

Having known some people graduating from both GJU and DCRUST, I can share some details about both colleges. See which one suits you better and opt for that one.

  • Since both colleges are located far away from the city, the chances of professional and personal exposure are very less.
  • DCRUST has a very enthusiastic and competitive student crowd, unlike GJU.
  • While choosing a college also keep in mind their infrastructure, placements, and faculty.
  • The placements at DCRUST are also better than GJU.
  • Students of CSE and ECE received the highest placement opportunities.
  • TCS has been the top recruiter consecutively every year.
  • The faculty of DCRUST is also better experienced than GJU.
  • DCRUST offers students a Robotics lab too.
Categories GJU DCRUST
Course Fee 2.44 lakh 2.36 lakh
Placement Percentage 60-70% 70-80%
Highest CTC 6 LPA 8.21 LPA
Average CTC 4 LPA 4-5 LPA

Opt for DCRUST among the two, as it provides better education and facilities than GJU.

One of my friends studied at DCRUST Murthal. He also availed the hostel and got the benefits of utilizing their facilities. Let me share what he mentioned about the hostels.

  • The rooms are spacious enough for a single occupant. But this becomes problematic when you have to share it, as it is not appropriate for accommodating two students.
  • The single and sharing rooms are of the same size.
  • You cannot expect much from university hostels when it comes to food facilities.
  • Though DCRUST is considered to have better mess food and canteen facilities than other colleges.
  • The food items are healthy, hygienic, and affordable.
  • Washing of clothes is free of cost.
  • The whole hostel is wifi enabled, which is a really good thing.
  • For boys, there are not many restrictions, but girls have a curfew time of 7 PM which changes to 5:30 PM during the winter season.

Lastly, for recreational activities, the hostels have a volleyball court, a badminton court, and a table tennis court. They also have games like carrom and a TV for students' break time.

The only thing that might sometimes become annoying is the frequent power cuts. Sometimes it occurs during exam season, which also troubles the students.

One of my friends studied at DCRUST. DCRUST is the abbreviation of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology. According to him, it is an average university.

  • The university is located at Murthal, Sonipat, Haryana, India, and is run by the state government.
  • It was previously known as Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering, Murthal. It is not very popular like NITs or IITs.
  • Campus placements here are not at all good. You cannot expect to receive placement offers from companies like Google or Tech Mahindra.
  • The faculties vary in each department. The Mechanical and Electrical departments have good professors.
  • Sports is appreciated and encouraged only if it's Basketball.
  • There are 4 boys and 3 girls hostels.
  • There is a shopping complex consisting of one bank, one salon, one xerox shop, one juice shop, one laundry shop, one cafe, and one stationary shop.
Categories DCRUST
Course Fee 2.36 lakh
Placement Percentage 60%
Highest CTC 10-12 LPA
Average CTC 4 LPA
Recruiting Companies Amazon, IBM, TCS, Cognizant, etc.

Overall, DCRUST is a world on its own. While studying here you need to keep in mind that it is not a school, you have to grasp knowledge on your own as nobody will focus on you separately other than yourself. So, if you did not get an opportunity to study at IITs or NITs, you can surely go for it.

According to my friends from DCRUST Murthal, here are the tips to score passing marks.

  • After you are done with your preparations, go through RG Publications Previous Year’s Papers to know the type of questions. This helps a lot during exams.
  • Try to include diagrams in your answers.
  • Try to write lengthy answers.

If you do these, scoring passing marks will not be difficult.

I have a few friends from DCRUST Murthal. According to them, the placement record for CSE at DCRUST is quite good. Some of the core IT companies that visit DCRUST are Fidelity, TCS, Samsung, Snapdeal, Tech Mahindra, etc.

According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at the institute is 3-4 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was 10 LPA. Also, you should note that placement depends a lot on the skill of the student rather than the institute.

If you want to get admission in CS at DCRUST, then you will need to have a good JEE Mains rank. If you are a general category student then your rank should be under 40,000. You will need to apply for DCRUST, through Haryana state technical counseling. Even if you aren’t getting CS, you can take admission to other branches, there are chances that you can slide your branch to CS after completing your 1st year.
