At Saurashtra University the grade point and marks are calculated according to the following.

Marks  90-100 80-89 70-79 60-69 50-59 40-49 1-39
Grade  O A B C D E F
Grade Point 10 9 8 7 6 5 4

Let’s say in your first semester you have 6 subjects and each subject has 5 credits. In semester one you score marks like the following.

Now, in order to get SGPA, you will need to divide your Total Grade Point by Total Credit 225/30=7.50. So, your SGPA is 7.50.

Total grade point for two semesters is 225+195 = 420, and Total credit is 30+30 = 60.

So, your CGPA for two semesters will be 420/60 = 7.

Subjects Grade Grade Point
Subject 1 D 30
Subject 2 D 30
Subject 3 C 35
Subject 4 C 35
Subject 5 A 45
Subject 6 O 50
Total - 225

Now, CGPA is the average of your degree. In this example, your SGPA for the 1st semester is 7.50. Let’s say in the second semester, your SGPA will be 195/30 = 6.50.

The checklist of WES (World Education Services) is very strict and they give importance to the recognition of the institution more than the programs offered there.

Here are some of the things which will be checked when your documents will reach them.

Validation of your institution

  • Your institute must be present in authoritative sources such as on the website of the Ministry of Education or in the accrediting body of the country in question.
  • Because the non-university institutions are not generally included in major reference publications.
  • To get some information published by the education authorities of the country, one has to dig deeper to verify them.

Recognition of institution

  • There are certain laws and regulations by the government for the establishment of educational institutions.
  • It is essential for the institution to be familiar with all the rules and also follow them accordingly.
  • The government institutions are generally recognized but for the private institutions, it varies depending upon the country.

Education Chronology

  • The chronology of a student's educational background must be compatible with the age of that particular student.
  • For example, the student must have completed his/her high school before applying for an undergraduate program and should have completed his/her bachelor's before applying for a graduate program.

Hence, these are some of the points which will be checked thoroughly and if all these things are clear then the institute will be recognised by WES for Canada or Australia.

Visit the university campus and collect the required application form. Fill in the required information and submit the same with relevant documents.

You will require attested photocopies of mark sheets and degree certificates of all semesters. With this done, the transcripts would be directly sent from the university within 20-25 working days,

The fee for a transcript varies according to the courses. The approximate cost is INR 700-800 and an additional amount of INR 2500 for shipping the transcript to your address.

Yes, you can pursue it. There are several external students pursuing MBA along with the regular ones. There are quite a number of irregular students in the classes as well because they are occupied with their office work. They are permitted by the HOD and respective authorities.

In conclusion, you can most certainly opt for an external MBA Course from University. It is also a PGDBM (Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management).
