Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is a 3 years full time graduate course which is divided into 6 semesters. Electrical engineering is the branch of engineering which deals with the technology of electricity. In this course, students can work with devices, components, systems from tiny particles to make huge power station generators. In this study they learn how to design circuits to perform specific functions and meet their requirements which is reliable and efficient electrical product. They work with resistors, capacitors, transistors, magnetic coils, etc.
Candidates who have completed their master’s degree in the stream of electrical, electronic or electromagnetics with more than 50% or an equivalent marks can apply for this course. Students are required to take an entrance exam to get an admission for this course. Most of the colleges conduct common entrance exams.
Few colleges conduct national entrance exams like
Based on these exams results the students are selected for admissions for this course.

I have a few friends who attend Ganpat University (ICT), Gujarat. According to them, the institute offers decent academics. The campus life at the institute is also enjoyable. However, if you are looking for decent placement opportunities, don’t join the institute. The placement cell of the institute isn’t effective in offering good placement offers. If you are looking for decent academics only you can choose the institute.
Ganpat University has a tie-up with IBM. As a result, their curriculum for Cloud Computing and Security is designed by keeping in mind the industry requirement. You will get to learn the right set of skills that IT industry requires. You will also have a better opportunity to work with leading organizations on cutting-edge projects and technologies. You will get to use tools and technologies used by famous IT services companies. From time to time they organize industry visits to different IBM offices/centers for live industry experience. Students get access to various IBM online communities to interact with experts and participate in discussions. After compilation of the course, you will get a certificate from both IBM and the university.
The hostels in Ganpat University are better than the hostels of Govt. colleges. The rooms are big and well-ventilated. All rooms have a big study table, a small shelf for books and a big cupboard for clothes and other things. Each hostel also has a common drinking point on the ground floor. Every hostel has a separate mess.
The university has a complex near all hostels, where you can buy the things that you need in day-to-day life. Most students prefer New Uma hostel. Ganpat University hostel fee is around INR 24,500 (total).
It is a good option for BCA. It offers decent facilities, environment for studies. Ganpat University BCA fees are also quite affordable. For the 3-year long course, you will need to pay around INR 90,000. However, for BCA, you will need to self-study to do well. You can’t depend on your college solely.
Ganpat University Mehsana offers a decent Megatronics course. As compared to other colleges in Gujarat, it has better labs and infrastructural facilities for the Mechanical and Mechatronics departments.
But Ganpat University placement scenario is not that good. There is almost little to no placement for the Mechatronics branch. Although many companies come to the institute for placements, most prefer Mechanical students over Mechatronics students.
Ganpat University placement scenario is quite good. Since 2013, there has been a surge in placement for computer science and information technology branches. The visiting companies offer various job profiles. You can choose a job according to your interest. According to recent placement highlights, the highest CTC offered to the students at the institute is 12 LPA. If you have a good fundamental understanding of the course, you can easily land a job with 4-5 LPA.
Here are a few of the Ganpat University notable alumni.
Yes, Ganpat University is good for Mechatronics. The coursework covers the basics along with the advanced subjects from Electrical, Computer, Mechanical. Theoretical and practical are well-balanced in the curriculum. The faculties are good.
Mechatronics labs are quite advanced and have well-maintained equipments. There is also a highly maintained large workshop. You can use the workshop for your personal project, college project, etc. The only point of concern for the branch is poor placements.
Among these institutes, Parul University is the best option for a BCA. The faculty base is great. Most of the faculty members are experienced and are alumni of reputed institutes like IITs, NITs. The faculties are also friendly and supportive. The placement statistics for BCA is also quite good. Students need to maintain at least 50% of attendance to sit for the placements. Major companies that visit the campus placement are TCS, Infosys, L&T, etc. The average CTC offered at the institute is 3 LPA.
Nirma University holds #10 rank issued by Times. Admissions for CE in this university are based on JEE Main and merit followed by counseling and interview. University also has a good placement rate.
In 2018, Ganpat University was given an award for placement activities for Improvement of Education, Culture, and Country by the Government of Gujarat. The admission process is similar to Nirma university.

Overall both the universities are equally good, both have the same admission process. But if we see in terms of fee structure, then Ganpat university is better than Nirma as both have nearly the same average placement rate and the fees of Ganpat is also very low.
