Course Description

Goa University is inviting applications for admission to its BEd Special Education Program offered at the Dnyanvardhini Divyang Training College for the academic year 2023-24. Interested candidates can apply online through the official university website at unigoa.ac.in.

As per Goa University, the last date to apply for Goa University BEd Special Education Admission 2023 is May 02, 2023. Any applications submitted after the given deadline will not be considered.

To apply for admission, candidates need to have a minimum of 50% marks in the BA/BSc/BCom or Graduation in any discipline or any equivalent degree at the graduate level from a recognized Indian University. The minimum required mark for reserved category candidates is 45%.

After the application process, the first round of GU-ART will be held at the Goa University Campus, Taleigao Plateau on May 13, 2023. Candidates who clear the entrance test will be called for counselling for seat allocation on the basis of GU-ART scores. Check Goa University Admission 2023

Goa University BEd Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the BEd course, the candidate must have a Graduation or Post graduation degree from Goa University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
There is a relaxation of 5% marks for the candidates belonging from SC/ST/OBC categories.
In the case of BEd Special Education, the candidate must have passed 10+2 from any recognized board/ Institution.
Candidates must appear in the GU-ART examination and obtain a valid score to seek admission. Read more: Goa University Courses and Fees

Goa University BEd Admission Criteria

Selection Criteria

Eligible candidates need to appear for the GU-ART examination and qualify with a valid score
Selected candidates need to appear for a Counselling round
Final admission will be done based on marks scored in GU-ART and the round of counselling.

Entrance Exam

GU-ART examination is conducted for various courses. The examination contains objective type questions of a total of 100 marks.
The total number of questions is 50, each question consists of 2 marks with a negative marking of ½ marks per the wrong question.
The exam duration is 90 minutes.
GU-ART is divided into 3 sections – section 1 (Least difficult) of 15 questions, Section 2 (difficult) of 15 questions and section 3 Most difficult of 20 questions.

Goa University B.Ed Application Process

The candidates need to apply online by filling up the admission form. Candidates need to provide all the correct information. Payment of application fee must be done. Print of the form and the receipt must be taken out for future use.

How to Apply?

Candidates must visit the admission portal of Goa University
The candidate must have a valid e-mail ID and must generate a username & password for future reference.
After successful registration, the candidate needs to proceed further to fill-up the form.
The candidate needs to fill up the online application correctly.
The candidate must provide the required personal & academic details along with uploading the softcopies of the documents
The candidate must upload a passport-sized photograph, the candidate’s signature, valid certificates, mark sheets and more.
After filling up the form correctly, the candidate needs to pay the application fee of INR 600/- (INR 300/- for the SC/ST category). The PwD candidates do not require to pay the application fee.
The application fee must be paid online through Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking
Candidates can opt for a maximum of two subjects in the BEd course.

Goa University BEd Course Details

For BEd (Special Education) the total credits required are: Theory: 36 and Practicum: 36
The internship is provided in BEd (Special Education) of two weeks in either a special school or a resource room, assessment of students along with 2 case studies, computer-assisted Presentation of various lessons, arranging workshops, etc.

Goa University BEd Scholarships

There are various Scholarships provided to the students like-

Free Studentship: The students coming from the family with annual income less than INR 3 LPA. The student should have scored 50% marks for science and 45% marks for other streams.
Merit Scholarship: the meritorious students with 60-65% marks in the last qualifying examination are given this scholarship
Research Scholarship: Provided to the full-time PhD students who secured 55% marks in masters.
Some other scholarships are given to the backward category students like Post-matric Scholarships to SC/ST/OBC communities
There are fee waiver schemes available for SC/ST candidates
Dayanand Bandodkar Scheme is provided to orphan candidates for their further higher education

You can apply online for Goa University transcripts. Go to the official website of Goa University. Navigate to ‘Systems’. You will find an option to apply for transcripts and other certificates under the Academic Matters option. Fill in the application form with the required details. You need to upload the following documents. Photocopy of Marksheets Passing Certificate or Convocation Degree (For WES certification, Convocation degree is a must) Internship Certificate, if applicable You need to submit the required fees. Goa University offers you with all the good aspects there are of a university. The students who have passed out from here will agree to it- about the faculty and placements as well. The previous year students have the same feedback about the professors there like the present year students. The faculty is very supportive and polite. They make sure to keep you updated with all the latest technology. They know what they are teaching and have in-depth knowledge of their specialised courses. But do not leave it all to them because there has to be efforts from your side too. It is always about give and take, it has to be both ways. As for the placement, certainly, some good companies and IT MNCs come for the recruitment and if you have it in you, then you can crack the interview as well. You will have to make sure to keep your result up to a level and appear for the interviews. It is not easy but if you set your mind to it, then it is possible. You can talk directly to the alumni to find out more about the intricacies of the course and the college.

One of my friends studied at Goa University. According to him, it has a very small campus when compared to other colleges of the same category. But well, it has so much more to offer than the area of campus. There are a number of different programs offered for you to do your graduation in. The management is very reliable and the admin team makes it run better than the other colleges. The faculty is very supportive and you get good placements coming to the university. Even though people feel that there is not much exposure at Goa University, it is not true. There have been many students who would prove that they have grabbed some very good opportunities by passing out from Goa University. The aggregate of your last 4 semesters is considered and an aggregate percentage is calculated as - {(5+6)/2 +7+8)}/03 Next, you need to be at the top among all the colleges that come under Goa University- GCE, PCCE, DBCE, RIET, AITD and not just the one where you study. If you top among all the branches of these colleges, then you will be presented awards at the convocation. Although not all the toppers get a gold medal, so you need to check with your department if they have it or not. It is up to you and not just about getting the gold medal. It is about gaining knowledge, your growth, and making sure that you plan your career and get a job of your interest.
