How is life at NLU Delhi? How hectic is your schedule in NLU Delhi?

● Top Answer By Aditya Srivastav on 22 Mar 22

Ans
Life can be pretty hectic at NLU Delhi, during the first semester. The course work is less in 2nd year. The academic pressure depends on the particular semester.  NLU Delhi campus is not large in size, but it offers decent facilities. The campus has badminton, basketball courts. NLUD organizes a cultural and literary fest called ‘Kairos’. Other than the cafeteria and the Amul shop, the library is a great place to be with your friends. It has thousands of books and e-resources. You will get to meet some of the smartest people, while on campus. Overall, NLUD offers an enviable campus experience.

Is it compulsory to live in hostel in NLU DELHI?

● Top Answer By Diya Rajnath on 10 Sept 21

Ans
Yes, it is mandatory that you choose to live in the hostel during the course period at National Law University (NLU), Delhi. Most essentially, NLU Delhi offers a personal residential campus wherein students are expected to stay while pursuing their courses.  However, there are times that you can otherwise choose not to stay full-time in the hostel of NLU Delhi. It is only in certain distinct circumstances that students are permitted to be day-scholar. You will need permission from the administration for the same.

Does the fee structure change according to marks in NALSAR or AY NLU?

● Top Answer By Anurima Dutta on 31 Aug 21

Ans
The fee structure which has been implemented at DS NLU is the same for everyone except for the students who are admitted into the institution based on various quotas like NRIs, Vacancies, Upgradation, and the other ones which are applicable at the institution.  My friend is currently pursuing a course at DS NLU so I have a brief idea about the fee structure there. The marks that you scored in your sessional or semester examinations of your respective course would not have any impact on the fees chargeable by the institute. The fee depends on the quota through which you get admission to the institution. If you belong to the general category and are domicile of India, then the fee which will be charged from you would be the same just like everyone else from your category for a specific course. I believe that a similar structure is followed throughout all the institutions that come under NLU.

Are there any single occupancy hostel rooms in NLU Delhi for the LLB hons students?

● Top Answer By Ankit Agrawal on 14 Sept 21

Ans
One of my friends graduated from NLU Delhi and also after checking the reviews online, I can share these details about the hostels, which might be useful for you.  There are no single occupancy hostel rooms provided in NLU Delhi for the LLB Hons. students.  Students studying in NLU Delhi definitely won’t be provided any single occupancy hostel rooms for the first year. But there are a few rooms available in the hostel that the management can allow you to use as a single occupancy hostel room, only if they are not occupied already. Do keep in mind that a single occupancy hostel room here, only means a bed, a table and chair, a wardrobe, and electrical plug points and implements. No separate bathroom or anything of the sort is facilitated.

Ques

Even after considering the AILET tougher than the CLAT why do most of the top rankers (of both CLAT and AILET) choose NLSIU over NLU Delhi?

● Top Answer By Jagat Behera on 14 Sept 21

Ans
Although AILET is more difficult than CLAT, this does not imply that NLU Delhi is better than NLS. If you look at the placement reports of both these colleges, NLS has done significantly better than NLUD. The weather is also a big influence here; Bangalore has a pleasant environment, but for Delhi, the weather conditions may become a bit harsh for some times especially during summers.  For your reference, the placement of NLU Delhi for the year 2020 is mentioned in the table below: Particulars Statistics No. of Students placed (B.A.LLB) 45 No. of Students placed (LL.M) 8 Median Package offered (B.A.LLB) INR 18 Lakhs per annum Median Package offered (LL.M) INR 8 Lakhs per annum You can refer to the placement report NLSIU Bangalore in the table given below: Particulars Statistics Students registered for Placements 58 No. of PPO 23 Highest Package offered INR 18 Lakhs per annum Lowest package offered INR 15 Lakhs per annum Top Recruiters L&L Partners, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, ICICI Bank, Societe Generale etc If you attend NLUD, you will have incredible opportunities because you will be living in a city with India's best High Court and Supreme Court. On the other hand, Bangalore is an MNC hub, you will get corporate employment and internship opportunities there.  Furthermore, NLSIU is recognized as the "Harvard of the East," implying that this college has surely done something worth the recognition that it receives.

Ques

Will I get into NLU Delhi with a score of 74.25 in the AILET 2021?

● Top Answer By Chetna Dagar on 13 Sept 21

Ans
It basically depends on two factors which are as follows: What toppers have scored: A total of 60 seats are available for General candidates at NLU Delhi. You'll need to climb into the top 100. The rankings are determined by how much each person has scored. Top rankers tend to score around 110–120, with 95–105 being the cut-off. Based on previous results, you need at least 95 points to pass the cut-off. Your category: If you belong to other minority categories, then the cut-off will be lower for SC, ST, OBC, Kashmiri migrants, and PWDs. You will be easily admitted.  However, the cut-off range mostly depends on the marks scored by the toppers.

How are placements at NLU Delhi? Do the government of India undertaking companies like SAIL GAIL etc. offer jobs there?

● Top Answer By Shivangini Mishra on 14 Sept 21

Ans
One of my friends graduated from NLU Delhi and here are some things I got to know from him.  The placement scenario at NLU Delhi is one of the best amongst all law colleges in India. Big law firms from India and abroad come here to recruit students.  Many students also bag PPOs with huge salary packages and beneficial perks. The top recruiting sectors of NLU Delhi are Indian & International Law Firms, Corporate Sectors, and Private Sectors.  The top recruiting companies of NLU Delhi are Trilegal, OYO, Steel Authority of India Limited, Khaitan & Co, and many more. Particulars NLU Delhi Placement percent 100% Average salary INR 12 LPA Median salary INR 16 LPA Lowest salary INR 3 LPA You can also refer to the previous years’ placement records of National Law University Delhi for more information. Coming to the second part of your question, public undertaking companies also give job offers to the students in NLU Delhi. Even from my college, NLU Assam students have been offered jobs by government undertakings such as Power System Operation Corporation Limited.

Which exam is tougher to crack: CLAT or AILET (NLU, Delhi)?

● Top Answer By Rewa Pathak on 10 Sept 21

Ans
If you go on to compare the number of candidates per seat, then AILET is considerably more difficult than CLAT.  However, in great contrast, there were about 18 applicants competing for one seat in NLU, while in the case of AILET, there were almost 203 applicants competing for an individual seat in NLU, Delhi. If compared to CLAT, AILET is somewhat higher in the case of the difficulty level. It is important to know that most of the students who go on to apply for AILET also apply for CLAT. But because NLU Delhi is amongst the top 5 national law universities of India, it is intensely difficult to get shortlisted.

What are some suggestions to crack the AILET for an LLB to get admission into NLU Delhi?

● Top Answer By Harsh Ranade on 13 Sept 21

Ans
AILET is a very unique exam among all law entrance tests with few characteristics. One of my cousins graduated from NLU Delhi. Let me share some things I got to know from her, which might be useful. The average attempt time per question is the same as CLAT (36 sec), the scope for experimentation is quite less since the test is 90 min long. Being a paper-based test, marking answers on OMR sheets can be time-consuming.  The upside is to flip pages and glance through multiple questions in one go. Use this to your benefit. The LA section is mostly marked by the assertion-reasoning type of questions. This feature is not as regular in CLAT and AILET. So keep practicing. Unlike CLAT math, AILET does not ask much. Most questions need a few steps of calculation to get to the answers. The selection of questions is important here. AILET GK is generally based on your overall knowledge about current trends, your subject, etc.  These are some things I got to know from my friend on how to prepare for AILET for an LLB degree at NLU Delhi.

Which is the better law school in Bangalore or NLU Delhi?

● Top Answer By Manjuli Rai on 13 Sept 21

Ans
Both NLS Bangalore and NLU Delhi have their share of advantages and disadvantages. Here I will be listing some of them, to give you a better picture overall. Advantages of studying at NLS Bangalore – Located in Bangalore, it gets all the advantages of being surrounded by opportunities. NLS Bangalore was the first law school with a five-year course in the country. They have a top-notch alumni network. It is the most recognized law school in the country. Disadvantages Admission to NLS Bangalore is very difficult. Bangalore is not the center of law in India, unlike Delhi. You may have less opportunity to make your mark, as you might get overshadowed by others. Advantages of studying at NLU Delhi – It is a new and more dynamic law school. Delhi is the best location for a law school. You have the Supreme Court, the High Court well as the District Courts. It is the seat of government and the parliament is situated there. You have all the law firms and best lawyers to intern under. Most of your seminars and conferences would be held nearby. Disadvantages – NLU Delhi was established in 2008 and hardly has any legacy to boast of. Delhi is not exactly known for its professional culture, whereas law as a profession is very professional and demanding. One thing you should keep in mind is that while your institute of education makes some difference, the difference is never so big that you cannot overcome it with your hard work.
