Eligibility Criteria

Any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 (three) year duration from a recognized University AND Mathematics as one of the subject at 10+2 level or Graduation level. OR Any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 (three) year duration from a recognized University AND doesn’t have Mathematics as one of the subject at 10+2 level or graduation level. These students are required to successfully complete BCS-012 (Graduate level Mathematics course) as Bridge Course

Course Details

IGNOU PGDCA admission 2024 for the January session has been started from December 15, 2023. The last date to apply is January 31, 2024 (Tentative). IGNOU PGDCA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years from a recognized university and with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 or graduation level
In case the students did not have Mathematics in his/ her 10+2, then he/she needs to pass BCS 12 as an additional subject along with Post Graduation Diploma in Computer Application

IGNOU PGDCA Assignments 2024

Assignments constitute continuous evaluation. The marks that you secure in the assignments will be counted in your final result. As mentioned earlier, an assignment of a course carries 30% weightage. You are therefore advised to take your assignment seriously.

Non Submission of Assignment

The TMA for each semester can be downloaded from the Student Zone of the University website. You have to complete the assignment within the due dates specified in the assignment booklet. You will not be allowed to appear for the term-end examination for any course if you do not submit the assignment in time for that course. If you appear in the term-end examination, without submitting the assignments, the result of the term-end examination is liable to be canceled.

The selection procedure for the course is based on merit obtained in the last qualifying examination. Candidates seeking admission can fill the application form in both online and offline mode.

IGNOU PGDCA Course Details

The PGDCA programme is a one year course that has been divided into two semesters. The first semester is from January to June, and the second semester is from July to December.

The examination is held twice a year, once in the month of June for the January-June semester, and another in the month of December, for the July- December semester course. Although the duration of the course is one year, it can be extended to a maximum duration of the course 4 years.

The course consists of 12 courses worth 36 credits. Students who did not have Mathematics as a subject in 10+2 level are required to pass the BCS-012 course simultaneously. The medium of instruction is English.

IGNOU PGDCA Fee Structure

At Indira Gandhi National Open University the total fees for Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application is INR 21,600. The per semester fee is around Rs. 10,800. Students who did not have Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level need to pay an additional amount of INR 1400, along with the first-semester fee. The details of the fee structure is given below in the table below:

Ans. There is no entrance examination for Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application. Candidates willing to get admission in MBA, B. Ed, or Ph. D courses need to give entrance examinations. The admission for PGDCA is based on the performance of the candidates in the last qualification.
