Course Description

Established in 1940, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) has two schools which offer undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) as well as Ph.D. research programmes.

JNAFAU offers Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) course in the following 6 disciplines to its students every year:

Architecture
Urban Planning
Building Construction Management
Interior Design
Housing & Habitat Studies
Environmental Design

Only candidates with the relevant postgraduate degree can register for the above mentioned Ph.D. programmes. Candidates can get admission to the Ph.D. courses on the basis of their performance in written test and interview, both conducted by the university. Read More: JNAFAU Admission

Candidates can register for admission to Ph.D. course by filling-in the online application form and submitting it along with the required processing fee of Rs.1000/- within the stipulated time.

JNAFAU PhD Eligibility

Candidates should possess post-graduate or equivalent degree from this university or any other recognized university with minimum 55% marks (for open category candidates) and 50% marks (for SC/ST category candidates)
Candidates who do not have PG degree in the concerned subject should submit equivalence certificate from the concerned organization i.e. Indian Association of Universities/All India Council for Technical Education/UGC/State Board of Technical Education.
Candidates who have cleared the UGC-CSIR/NET/GATE examination are exempted from the written test and will directly be admitted on the basis of interview.

Candidate must possess M.Arch. or equivalent degree from this university or any other recognized university.

JNAFAU PhD Admission Process

Selection of the candidates to the Ph.D. course is done on the basis of written test and interview, both conducted by the university
Candidates who appear in the Ph.D. Eligibility Entrance Test (PEET) in the subject must secure at least 50% marks (for general and backward category candidates), 45% marks (for physically handicapped candidates) and 40% marks (for SC/ST category candidates) to get qualified for interview round

Candidates can register themselves by submitting completed applications in person or by Registered post /Courier along with the fee of Rs. 1000/- through demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favour of “The Registrar, JNAFAU Hyderabad” and payable at Hyderabad.
