- The first year of study will cover a range of engineering topics and is aimed at providing a sound base for the following years. Students will study Mathematics, and the underlying concepts of Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, and Production Engineering. They will undertake laboratory work and utilise their new production knowledge to build and test a design.
- In the second year, students will learn about Telecommunications and Signal Processing, Electronic Design, and Control Systems. They will also study Engineering Management and learn the role and responsibilities of a professional engineer.
- In the third year, students will complete an individual project, acquire specialist Electronics and Communications Systems knowledge, and learn how to convert an idea into a commercial venture. Should students pursue the MEng then they will cover some of these topics in more depth alongside broadening studies, for example in business management and accounting.
