Economies in todayÕs world are increasingly interconnected, posing new legal challenges in areas such as:

  • the imposition of tariffs and other trade barriers
  • the negotiation of deep regional trade agreements reducing regulatory barriers between countries
  • the enforcement of trade rules through the WTO.

YouÕll learn to apply the rules of international trade law to the complex challenges facing the international trade system. You'll also develop critical perspectives so you can better understand the theories underlying trade liberalisation.

Careers

This course will enable you to work as a legal practitioner in a variety of roles, for example:

  • advising on cross-border commercial transactions
  • as an arbitrator in international commercial disputes

  • as an expert in an NGO or international organisation.
