The MSc in Sport Coaching and Pedagogy at Cardiff Metropolitan University offers a unique opportunity for professional and career development, focusing on applied and experiential learning within a community of practice.Ê
All modules, with the exception of the Dissertation Project are 20 credit modules. Timetabled teaching for these taught modules equates to a minimum of 30 hours, supplemented by 170 additional learning hours made up of directed tasks and independent study time. Modules are taught through a combination of lectures and interactive seminars that use a variety of teaching and learning approaches including Reflective Practice, Action Research, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Ethnography and Ethno-Drama. Student learning is supported through the use of our Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) that provides learning resources over and above that found in the learning centre (library). All learners are supported with access to a personal tutor who is also the Programme Director of the course.Ê

Students from this course have developed careers in sport coaching, teaching, sport science support, further and higher education, and sports development. The programme also provides an excellent spring board for students wishing to progress to the taught doctorate in Sport Coaching, MPhil/PhD or Professional Doctorate study.
