The Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences (Coaching) course is offered by Brunel University London.

YouÕll learn how the human body works on physiological, biomechanical and psychological levels and how this can be applied to improve athletic development and performance and prevent injury.

In your coaching specialisation, youÕll also investigate and analyse a variety of coaching theories and practices, learn to create, implement and evaluate training programmes for teams and individuals, and start to develop your own coaching practice and style.You'll learn to identify and manage training, performance and lifestyle issues, and to develop skills that enhance confidence, motivation and concentration and help control anxiety and stress.

The coaching methods youÕll learn are applicable across all sports, skill levels from beginner to elite, ages, genders and contexts including professional, educational and community.

Careers and your future

There is a variety of different careers available within sports coaching. Examples include multi-sport community coach, graduate football coach or an academy coach. You may want to become a performance analyst, a PE specialist or work as a PE coach in schools. Or if you would prefer to continue your studies, you could go on to study a MasterÕs in Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences.
