The course is suitable if you don't meet the entry requirements for our BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design course, or you want extra preparation before starting degreeÐlevel study. You share the first year with other art and design foundation year students, then move on to the degree.We aim to provide you with an understanding of design culture and design practice through live projects and potential work placements. You will learn how to create innovative designs, critically reflect on projects and learn skills that reflect your personal interests and career aspirations.You learn through:

In the foundation year, you'll be introduced to a range of art and design disciplines as you develop your existing skills and familiarise yourself with Sheffield Hallam. You'll also gain a sound understanding of the creative industries and learn how to progress towards a career within them. This will be reinforced by challenging briefs that require you to push the boundaries of your knowledge and skills.
