Distinctive features of this programme include:



a) School of Classics



Study of Greek and Roman antiquity through a variety of media and kinds of evidence, particularly literary texts (in translation) and visual art. Students can expect to have the opportunity to engage with a number of specialist topics, including major genres of poetry and important areas of social life, religion, philosophy and art in antiquity.



b) School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies



Film Studies at St Andrews offers a comprehensive study of global cinema in all its forms. Our teaching is strongly shaped by the cutting edge research of our staff and students can expect to have the opportunity to engage with a number of specialist topics including for example film theory, film history, and an extensive assortment of periods, authors, and genres.
