The course begins by giving you an understanding of how microbiology and physical principles are integrated in, and used to investigate broad living processes from cells to organisms. After this, an understanding and application of microbiology is developed, and the course aims to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the study of the microbial world. You'll study the key concepts associated with micro-organisms in both practical and theoretical contexts and then consider the role of microbes in health, disease and in the natural environment. The degree also provides specialisations in molecular microbiology, forensic microbiology and virology.
