The universityÕs strong research culture feeds into the programme, together with direct feedback from employers about the skills that they want our graduates to develop. These combine to ensure that you gain the most relevant up-to-date knowledge and skills on which to build your career.
The approach works well with the students and employers, and we have a legacy of success in the National Student Survey: scoring 94% student satisfaction in 2015, as well as 93%, 100%, 93% and 97% in the four years before that!
In your final year, you can specialise in areas such as financial mathematics, cryptography, medical statistics or fluid dynamics and can dig even deeper with a specialist project. Recent specialist projects have investigated the volatility of shares, ocean modelling, kidney transplant survival data, Bayesian modelling of Premier League results, etc.
