• Northumbria University’s BSc Biomedical Science degree is formally accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).
  • The course will provide students with both general and specialist knowledge in the field of biomedical science, enabling them to understand the fundamental principles of the pathogenesis of disease and strategies for their investigation and treatment.
  • In the final year of study, students will be able to select a module that appeals to their personal interests and allows them to tailor their learning to their own career aspirations.
  • Students will also have the opportunity to apply to undertake a one-year placement within the industry or at an accredited NHS training laboratory, allowing them to put the skills they have learned into practice in a real-world environment.
