Our interdisciplinary degree encompasses aspects of philosophy, psychology and sociology in the exploration of both historical and contemporary educational theory, policy and practice.

You will have the opportunity, for example, to explore key, contemporary issues in education; engage with issues concerning social justice and inclusion and gain insights into early years education, citizenship and the impact of globalisation on education systems.

You will follow a common first year and have the option to specialise in a specific area of study in years 2 and 3. In order for that area of specialism to be recorded on your degree transcript, you must follow the same specialist pathway in both years, you can choose from:

  • Early Years
  • Inclusive Education
  • International
  • Religion and Community
  • Theatre and Performance
  • Primary
