WHY THIS PROGRAMME
- We are the longest established forensic toxicology MSc in the UK, and the only programme in the UK delivered by practising forensic toxicologists in an operational ISO 17025 accredited environment.
- Our staff are regularly called to court to give evidence as expert witnesses. You will have the opportunity to visit a Scottish court in session and develop skills as an expert witness through lectures and practical sessions, including a moot court exercise.
- The Forensic Toxicology service is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 standard with UKAS. You will have access to a variety of instruments including GC/MS, HPLC and LC/MS.
- Students are introduced to ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and Quality Management Systems.
- Our course is highly rated by graduates, with a 92% overall satisfaction rating on the 2016 Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey, and delivered by qualified, award-winning lecturers, who have worked internationally, and authored textbooks and research publications in the field.
Students can get involved in high-quality forensic toxicology research projects that are published and presented as posters at conferences.We support our students who wish to join professional membership organisations such as the United Kingdom & Ireland Association of Forensic Toxicologists (UKIAFT).
