YouÕll build a strong scientific understanding of the genetic and molecular basis of human health, development and disease, and explore the evolution of diseases within human populations. YouÕll study the mitochondrial and human genomes in depth and be introduced to medical research, genetic counselling and bioethics.

In the final year you have the chance to design your own project, supervised by our experts, developing the skills to become a researcher in your own right.

You can complete your Medical Genetics degree in three or four years. If you choose to study abroad, this will take place in Year 3, and the Year 3 modules will instead be studied in Year 4.
