YouÕll develop an advanced scientific understanding of the physical and chemical properties of matter, including the nature of atoms and molecules, their structure and composition, their reactions and the ways they are used in products and materials.
In your first year youÕll study the fundamentals of organic and inorganic chemistry, spectroscopy and states of matter. Later youÕll study physical and quantum chemistry, computational chemistry and organic synthesis.
Chemistry is a practical subject and youÕll develop advanced skills through frequent lab work. During your final year youÕll conduct your own research project, either laboratory- or literature-based.
Choose your own pathway through this degree Ñ add a year in industry or studying abroad, or carry out an additional year of advanced study to graduate with an MSci.
