• Master of Research in Bioengineering at Imperial College London is a 1-year program.
  • It is an on-campus, 90 credits program offered on a full-time basis.
  • The course involves lectures and practical work in the first term, followed by full-time work on a research project. 
  • A variety of seminars and workshops are also provided to deepen and broaden the student’s skill base.
  • The core modules of the program are:
    • Computational and Statistical Methods for Research
    • Topics in Biomedical Engineering
    • Frontiers in Bioengineering Research
  • During the Autumn and Spring terms, MRes students take their taught modules.
  • At the start of the Spring term, students submit a literature survey and research proposal (early January) and continue with Seminar modules.
  • Students will receive their course timetable by the beginning of their studies in October and the core teaching hours for the college are 9 am–6 pm.
  • The assessment of the program includes coursework, oral presentations, research thesis, written examinations, and written reports.
  • The MRes course provides a particularly solid foundation for progression to a PhD.
  • This degree is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining (IOM3), and the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED).
