• All Biological Sciences students follow the same core modules for the first year, covering the basic areas of biology alongside key scientific skills. This gives you a solid grounding in the fundamental topics and prepares for advanced study. In the second year, the study applied biology and genetics, then begin to specialise through optional modules.
  • Between the second and third years of the degree, students will have the chance to enhance their experience and knowledge by completing an integrated, 12-month placement in industry or a research organisation. This can be in a variety of areas, such as medical research, conservation biology, marine biology or the pharmaceutical industry.
