Who is it for?
  • This course is suitable for anyone with a first degree in any subject who wants to be a first class magazine journalist. Students must have excellent general knowledge and be prepared to work across print and digital platforms with a variety of content. Students will have passion for communicating in words and pictures - and an appetite for fun and hard work is essential.

Objectives

  • This hugely successful, well-established course will prepare you for a broad range of magazine scenarios, from writing for a glossy menÕs magazine; to researching a story for an online business-to-business publication; to reviewing a play for a national newspaper supplement and much in between.
  • You'll learn the essential skills of reporting, feature writing, subbing, interviewing, researching, and design and layout. You'll produce print and online magazines, and complete at least seven weeks' work experience.
  • The course will give you a thorough grounding in print and multimedia journalism. You will develop professional skills in reporting, interviewing, research, feature writing and production (print and online), benefitting from the experience of leading magazine and specialist journalists and around 30 visiting editors, commissioning editors and editorial directors from the UKÕs leading publishing houses.
